MEET THE ARTIST

Matt Firth combines elements of popular culture, street art, and protest iconography to create work that provokes thought, dialogue, and action.

He manipulates everyday imagery to create bold new ways of looking at the familiar.

Through compelling compositions that question assumptions and expand horizons, Matt promotes belief in the power of individual action to create positive change.

After graduating in Graphic Communication from the University of Wales, Matt worked as a Creative Director in London, Los Angeles, and Amsterdam and has collaborated with the likes of John Malkovich, Robert Rodriguez, and Alicia Keys to produce internationally acclaimed and awarded work.

As a street artist, he has been creating stencil art and large-scale murals for over 25 years. From his early days in the UK, his work spread to streets all over the world. He has featured in many art and design publications and painted at international graffiti events like Concrete Colours and Upfest.

“This is precisely the time when artists go to work.

There is no time for despair, no place for self-pity, no need for silence, no room for fear. We speak, we write, we do language.

That is how civilisations heal.”

Toni Morrison
